The objective of this paper is to bring new insights into the linguistic study of judicial argumentation. Analysis explores the use of the most frequent connectors and metaargumentative expressions in a corpus including judgements from three different courts. Results show that these elements act as kernels in the construction of argumentative discourse on the part of judge
